Outside Business Development Representative (BDR)

We are looking to acquire new Outside Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to create the top of the funnel for our company growth, to present the dealr.cloud product, and to persuade prospects to join the dealr.cloud platform. You'll be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle.

Our ideal candidate is highly skilled in persuasion and can converse and convince prospects effectively both in-person and on the phone. You thrive at creating and mining lead opportunities and making positive connections. You’ll acquire new clients through outbound lead sources and by prospecting and cultivating in-person relationships. Your primary objectives are to initiate relationships, set appointments, perform initial presentations, work with our demoers to address more complex dealership questions, and then work with the prospect to make the sale and bring them onto our platform. After closing, new clients will be handed off to our implementation team for onboarding.

You’re a self-starter who has dealership industry knowledge and will have intimate product know-how of the dealr.cloud software platform. Our BDR must approach each day with a sense of urgency, manage up, and compress the sales cycle with self-reliance from cold call to close. This role is not for the faint of heart, and the only people who will succeed in this role are those who would consider themselves hunters. You must be highly motivated, organized, tenacious, and driven with a relentless pursuit of new revenue.

Time management is essential for our BDR. There is no downtime as you must maximize the hours of your day to prospect, capture customer pain points, prepare for demos, create comprehensive demo summaries, and manage all closing activities. You must meticulously execute all necessary follow-up administration in our CRM and internal communication channels, and work cohesively with team members to ensure timely instigation of subscriptions and payment collection.

Schedules are based on the region in which the BDR is responsible, with approximately sixty percent of your time (60%), being dedicated to travel and in-person meetings for assigned areas. Forty percent (40%) of the schedule is expected to be non-travel work from home time. You will be working from home 2 days per week for your admin work and prospecting, and 3 days per week in the field with prospects and clients.Travel reimbursement will be provided per policy.

What you’ll do:

  • Create leads and opportunities by data mining and cold-calling to generate and book product demos.

  • Navigate gatekeepers to secure meetings with decision-makers.

  • Overcome objections and resistance encountered in the booking process.

  • Apply consultative selling by prioritizing relationships and open dialogue to understand and provide solutions to customer needs.

  • Serve as a highly motivated professional and help enable client success with our robust product.

  • Apply exceptional follow-up skills to cultivate relationships with key players.

  • Provide high-level product presentations using slide decks and pre-recorded videos before passing off to our demoing team

  • Work tenaciously to follow up with and close prospects.

  • Work with sales management to reach goals and improve the sales process.

  • Work as a team to achieve monthly sales goals, as well as your individual objectives.

  • Organize your own travel, schedule, and admin as you book, demo, and close prospects.

Who you are:

  • The Tenacious Salesperson: You are resilient, persistent, and unwavering in your salesmanship. You don’t give up and want to help every prospect you touch.

  • A Closer: you know how to ask for the sale. You’re a great listener who is a master of handling objections and managing all facets of closing conversations while maintaining an even emotional keel.

  • A Prospector: you excel at mining opportunities, making positive connections, and booking meetings via cold-calling from outbound lead sources, when not in demos or closing conversations.

  • Computer Savvy: You know your way around a computer. From surfing the web to troubleshooting your smartphone, you have done it all!

  • A People Person: You find it easy to make connections with others and can’t imagine a job without human-to-human contact.
