Technical Legal Researcher
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and research-driven Technical Legal Researcher to join our team. Similar in nature to a paralegal role, this position focuses on understanding, interpreting, and implementing the statutory and regulatory requirements for automotive sales, financing, and titling across all U.S. states.
You’ll perform in-depth legal and procedural research, review complex forms and documentation, and work directly with dealerships, state agencies, and internal teams. Your ability to analyze laws and regulations, translate them into practical requirements, and maintain accurate compliance documentation will be essential to supporting dealr.cloud and Dealer Title Solutions as we expand into new markets.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance. You will report directly to the VP of Client Success and act as a critical bridge between legal requirements, technical implementation, and client needs.
What you’ll do
Conduct statutory and regulatory research across all 50 states related to automotive sales, financing, and titling—similar to a paralegal’s legal research responsibilities.
Communicate with dealerships to understand their sales processes, documentation needs, and compliance obligations.
Engage with state agencies to clarify procedural requirements and gather authoritative guidance.
Locate, review, and interpret complex forms and contracts related to vehicle sales and financing.
Create clear state-specific compliance documentation for internal and external use.
Build and configure legal and regulatory data fields within our systems to ensure accurate form generation.
Build and program new forms into our systems for dealerships to use in their processes.
Audit forms and workflows to ensure compliance with state requirements and verify accurate system programming.
Perform ongoing forms data management, including updating outdated or non-compliant forms.
Research titling laws and regulations to support Dealer Title Solutions’ expansion into new jurisdictions.
Serve as an internal subject-matter resource for state-specific legal requirements and assist in explaining complex regulations to non-legal stakeholders.

A Great Communicator: You can clearly explain complex legal and procedural concepts to internal teams, clients, and state agencies.
Tech Savvy: You’re comfortable working within advanced systems and have an aptitude for mastering new tools and software quickly.
A Creative Problem Solver: You thrive on untangling complex legal and regulatory challenges and finding practical, compliant solutions.
A Master Multitasker: You can manage multiple legal research initiatives, compliance audits, and system configurations simultaneously.
Super Teachable and Flexible: You adapt quickly to evolving regulations and changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Highly Detail-Oriented: You understand that even the smallest oversight in compliance documentation can have big implications, and you pride yourself on thoroughness.
